What I was present to:
I was present to how much a solid morning routine matters. Today I was thrown off track. I usually have a routine that I do every morning. But today it didn’t happen — and I can really feel it! The day doesn’t feel as smooth and productive as it usually does.
What I did today:
Today is going great (I did good work on some side projects, and my dog Pen got a super-walk/exercise session in at a nearby park.) Except… I haven’t exercised yet, and I’m a little behind on work. But it’s only 4PM, so I still have plenty of time to catch up. I just feel like my day happened in reverse; usually I exercise before my dog, and I do work stuff before side project stuff. But it’s fine. It’s not a big deal. I just now how I rather start my day tomorrow. :)
What I know:
I know that if you want to have amazing days and a great life, you have to learn to master your day. Which means, have what you love (or what helps you the most) in place everyday, make it top priority — do it before anything else. Turn your best day into a solid routine and an ongoing addiction. It’s like unconditional love or innocent smiles — how can you have too much? Don’t they always make your day better? Good habits, habits we love, habits that truly helps us — are always a good thing to cultivate and cherish. They make our lives brighter.
